Rising damp is dampness from the ground travelling up the walls of your property through pressure or capillary action, in most cases there is either a defective original damp proof course, failed injection damp proof course, or no damp proof course at all to stop the progress of the rising damp. An inexperienced or untrained surveyor may mistake condensation or penetrating damp for rising damp and therefore recommend a course of action which will be unnecessarily disruptive and possibly expensive, worst of all it is also probably not required and will simply disguise the true cause of the problem and often leads to other problems.
Rising damp can usually be differentiated from Penetrating damp as it is at the bottom of your walls and tends to fade out at a fairly uniform height. Whilst damp can also penetrate at any level of a wall (high or low), penetrating damp is usually patchy and not as uniform as rising damp and usually has an obvious cause.
Following an external inspection, our surveyor will take a series of internal readings from your walls using modern test equipment, a combination of the inspection and interpretation of the readings along with years of experience will enable your surveyor to determine the source of any dampness and produce his recommendations for correction of the same.

Reliable and pleasant
Reliable and very pleasant to deal with. We encountered some unusual and unexpected obstacles with the work on my house and Mike dealt with everything, going beyond the extra mile until the job was completed. You can trust this firm and I shall certainly call on them again if I need any other work.
A very friendly, professional service.
An experienced surveyor, visited the property promptly and the work was done by quality tradesmen who left the property redecorated and tidy. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this company for any further work that may arise in the future. It is also reassuring that you can always speak to someone when you phone, unlike many businesses who use answer machines.
